Who are PRTs?

Primary teachers usually teaches from Class 1 to Class 5. According to Right to Education, Schools have to appoint Qualified Primary teachers for primary sections in schools. Centers and state governments appoint Primary Teachers according to their rules. These Institutions publish information or circulars time to time on their website.

Essential Academic Qualification for PRT

It is necessary that you should know the path of your destination before start. 

  • Qualified 10+2 from recognized Board
  • At least 50% or Above in 10+2
  • Graduation from Recognized University
  • Primary teacher training Certificates from Government Recognized Institutions
  • D.El.Ed and BTC courses
  • TET/CTET Qualified

Eligibility for PRTs

  • Age of candidate must be between 18 to 40 years
  • CTET/TET qualified

  • Social Studies
  • Social Useful Productive work
  • Current Indian Society and Elementary Education
  • Educational Psychology
  • Action Research and Innovation

After completing BTC and D.El.Ed courses /How to apply for CTET

With Good Scores, You have to pass these courses. After Interval of every 6 months Center and state Government organize the eligibility test for Teachers. Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is organized by state governments and Center Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is organized by Center Government. TET is is valid in certain states but CTET is applicable for center and for some states also. 

CTET

CTET- Center Teacher Eligibility Test. CTET gives you the certificate of Teacher Eligibility. With this Certificate, Candidate can apply  in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghthan (KVS), Navodaya  Vidyalaya’s, Central Tibetan Schools etc. which are run, funded and regulated by Center. Also certain states provides opportunities to the candidate to apply in their states with CTET certificate. For more information regarding CTETs, you can visit to their website.

Exam pattern of CTET

CTET Exam Consist of two papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is for Primary Teachers and paper 2 is for TGTs (Trained Graduate Teachers). Paper 1 comprises of 150 Questions which are objective in nature. There is 1 mark for each corrected answers. The Questions Breakup are as follows:

Points to be Remember

  • Exam is conducted in both mediums i.e. English and Hindi.
  • Subjects like Child Development & pedagogy and Language 1 & 2 have to be prepared well since there is minimum marks criteria in these subjects.
  • In mathematics, basic calculative Knowledge is analyzed.
  • Since, Most of the questions based on NCERT books so it is advisable to read NCERT books.
  • NCERT Based questions are asked in Environmental Studies.
  • Pdf of NCERT books are easily available on their website
  • It is advisable to analyze & solve last five years question papers.
  • Be prepared with your time-table and devote your more time on your weak areas
